UPDATE: The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office provided the following information Feb. 13 regarding this accident: Alexander H. Nielsen, 33, of Boothbay was arrested Feb. 8 for Operating under the Influence (Drugs or Combo) – Injury, on Boothbay Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy Jerold Winslow. This arrest was on a warrant issued after an investigation by Sgt. Kevin Dennison.

The newspaper is seeking additional information on the accident.

Original Post: A head-on crash on Route 27 in Edgecomb this morning around 7:30 resulted in a call to Lifeflight. Edgecomb and Boothbay fire departments and CLC Ambulance responded and traffic was rerouted down River Road.
