Crink family thanks community
Dear Editor:
Thank you to everyone involved in the search for Lynne Crink, including Sheriff Todd Brackett and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office team, especially Detective Terry Michaud, the Maine State Warden Service, the Maine Marine Patrol boats and planes, and the Maine State Police, including the dive team.
We are grateful for your intense efforts. Each and every person involved was not only diligent and professional, but also courteous and respectful.
A special thank you to the many search and rescue volunteers who were an indispensable part of the search. You are each a real credit to your respective organizations.
Lynne believed in volunteer service. She was actively involved in the Friends of the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library Used Bookstore, initially as an onsite volunteer responsible for the cookbook section, since cooking and books were lifelong passions.
As her health declined and she was unable to be onsite, she continued her role as volunteer coordinator, a role she held until her death. She also volunteered for St. Andrews Healthcare Center’s Good Morning Neighbor Program, checking in by phone daily with two local residents.
Before permanently relocating to Maine in 1998, Lynne resided in Michigan where she was a registered nurse specializing in end-of-life care. She was the third hospice nurse in the state, working in the second institutional hospice in the country and ultimately retired from a position as director of nursing for hospice.
During her nursing career she helped ease the dying process for hundreds of patients and families. Lynne's express wishes were not to have a formal obituary or service. Donations in her memory may be made to the ASPCA or to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter from where she adopted four beloved cats.
