Panel discussion on healthcare Jan. 23
Looking for answers about the projected changes to the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid and Medicare? On Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., representatives from LincolnHealth and the Boothbay Region Health Center will join in a panel discussion at the Rotary Club headquarters at 66 Montgomery Road. Boothbay Harbor.
Questions such as the effects of budget cuts; how large systems (Lincoln Health, MaineHealth) will coexist with smaller ones such as the numerous Health Care Centers throughout Maine, including the newly opened Health Center in Boothbay Harbor. How will changes to Medicare and Medicaid affect individuals as well as the institutions they go to for help with health issues? How does Lincoln/Maine Health deal with those who have no insurance?
Panel members will include Jim Donovan, CEO of LincolnHealth; Dr. Alan Barker, a practitioner of family medicine in the LincolnHealth system; and Patty Seybold, president of the board of directors , Boothbay Region Health Care. There are many issues to be addressed in the ever-evolving world of healthcare and questions from the audience will be welcome.
The meeting will be hosted by Indivisible Boothbay, a nonpartisan group which meets on the third Tuesday of each month. The group encourages active citizenship by every individual and is sponsoring this discussion because of its dedication to improving the health and well-being of all.
