Another successful Fishermen's Festival
Starting with the Miss Shrimp Pageant, the 2015 Fishermen's Festival was a great success. Without the support of the contestants, parents, community and the volunteerism this would not of been accomplished. Hannaford supports March of Dimes
On Saturday, April 25 during the Fishermen's Festival, employees at Hannaford could be found outside raising money for the March of Dimes.
According to Evelyn Andrews, Hannaford associate relations manager, each Hannaford store raises money for charities during the year.
“(Associate) David (Steinmetz) has a connection with the Boothbay Fire Department, who were kind enough to donate their dunk tank for the event,” Andrews said.

Sophia Gudroe is crowned 2015 Shrimp Princess
Sophia Gudroe was crowned the 2015 Shrimp Princess during a the April 23 pageant held in the Boothbay Harbor Opera House. Gudroe, 12, of Boothbay was one of five pageant contests.
Gudroe performed a ballet dance during the talent portion of the pageant.
The first runner-up was Emilie Crocker, 11, of Edgecomb. She performed a dance with hula hoops during the talent competition.

Festival event cancellations
The 42nd annual Fishermen's Festival guide had already been printed before the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor called the newspaper on Tuesday afternoon to inform us that the church's annual festival supper was not going to be held on Saturday, April 25. The church is doing some remodeling at this time.

This weekend marks the 42nd year the Boothbay region has hosted a Fishermen’s Festival, which was originally established to pay tribute to Lincoln County’s commercial fishing industry and the key role it has played in our history. Dyer Neck Gang plays Fishermen’s Festival
Fishermen's Festival weekend 2015 just got a little louder: Mr. C's Foods and Spirits in Boothbay Harbor has booked the Dyer Neck Gang for Saturday, April 25.
The Newcastle-based band, co-founded by Garry Blackman Jr. of Boothbay and Joe Dalton, was launched in 2012 as a modern country act under the slogan “Country that rocks!”
