Friday, Aug. 25, the show and sale opens at 10 a.m. with the opening reception (open to the public) kicking off from 5 p.m. until 7. Most of the artists and artisans will be there and so will harpist Suki Flanagan, adding a mystical air to the festivities.
By far the most popular day is Saturday, this year Aug. 26, a.k.a. Arts Interaction Day Demos & Hands-on Art Tutorials from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Your last chance to get to the show and buy some new art is Sunday, Aug. 27 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Said Event Coordinator Leslie Muir-Volpe of the reception, “The transformation from boat shed to art gallery is amazing to witness. It’s always rather magical to be at an evening reception for a lovely art show at a working boatyard!”
Muir-Volpe announced three new participants: Donna and Denny Denniston/Barter’s Island Bees honey products, Edgecomb-based watercolor artist Suzi Thayer and plein air painter and weaver Wendy Bellows will join these returning creatives: Christine Thalia Andersen - artist, Andre Benoit - plein air painter, assemblist sculptor, Jill Butke - fiber artist/weaver, John Butke - artist, Martha Cowdery and Michael Tomko - At Roads End, artisans/creators, Rick Dickinson - traditional American impressionist, Clark Griffith - Apple-Ledge Farm Pottery, Don Josephson - American expressionist painter, Jeanne Lally - artist, Nora Lally - beaded jewelry, succulent gardens, Leslie Muir-Volpe - fiber artist, Suzanne Norton - jewelery, wall hangings, painted furniture, Rimar Reed - paper artist, Fran Scannell - Southport-based plein air painter, Lynne Seitzer - artist, John M. T. Sietzer - artist, Ursula Smith - weaver, and Betsy Wing - author, visual artist, translator.
