Our new AG Lorraine Faherty joined us last week. She is a member and past president of the Damariscotta-Newcastle Club. Her vast Rotary experience will be a real asset to our club. Not to mention she is our neighbor. We will miss Bob Reed, but are glad he is taking some family time. As he says “I’ll be back.”

Hope you read Tory’s article in the Boothbay Register, “Spark Change: Join Rotary When You’re Young.” Great article, fun read, but the best part is seven “Under 35” community members contacted us about joining. Alice is inviting them all to a “meet and greet” at her house in September. Join us if you can.

Don’t miss the recent article in the Boothbay Register by Alice Mutch highlighting the winners of last spring’s photography contest. The PR committee sure has been busy and effective at telling the Boothbay Rotary Club story. Thank you. They are always looking for new members.

The Rotary Club Barn sales are doing well. We have a fun group of volunteers, but could always use more, especially on Saturday mornings between 8:30 and 11. There is a lot to do, but mostly we have fun. So much fun that two volunteers have turned into potential new members. The spirit of Rotary has moved them. We are accepting donations again. John Hochstein has organized a Zoom meeting for Sept. 15 with a Rotary Club in Spain, of which, our summer member and Auction volunteer extraordinaire Marcus is a member. Will be great to see him and meet his club members. Join us, if you can speak Spanish, even better.

Now, unfortunately for the sad news. Two members recently needed surprise surgery. They are recuperating at home now, doing OK. They could use our support by providing meals and grocery shopping. Call Irene if you can help.
