Coastal Maine Popcorn at the Big E

Wed, 09/25/2019 - 2:30pm

Coastal Maine Popcorn headed to West Springfield, Massachusetts to attend the northeast’s largest fair, the Big E, on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Julie Roberts along with business manager. Laura Murphy and co-worker Tom Dewey, set out to sell popcorn to a crowd of people.

After our booth was set up in the State of Maine Building, the doors opened to a crowd of people that love the state of Maine, the quality items that come from it, and the friendly people.

Within four days 482,394 people walked through the gates at the Big E. We passed out over 6,000 samples of 12 different flavors of popcorn. We were able to sell popcorn to people who have loved our popcorn for years and people who have never heard about us. Many folks were amazed to be able to experience so many flavors at once.

We loved telling people about how beautiful Boothbay Harbor is and how happy we would be to have them come and visit. We were able to share information about our amazing Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Gardens Aglow, Boothbay Lights, Boothbay Region Land Trust trails, Boothbay Harbor Country Club, shopping, great restaurants and breweries that people can visit and enjoy.

After working over 50 hours over the four days, we were happy to pack up and come home knowing that we shared the popcorn love and the love we have for our peninsula with tens of thousands of people.
