Going above and beyond

    Dear Editor:

I just wanted to share an experience with you. My name is Nathan Snyder. I live in St. Petersburg, Florida. My mom, Ann Snyder, lives in Boothbay and today (Christmas Eve) is her birthday. We wanted to fly her down this year but due to the pandemic, we decided against it. So she is up there by herself on her birthday. Every way possible we wanted to try and make her day special.

It being Christmas eve and a small town in Maine, things were going to be tough. I wanted to deliver her some food and did not think it would be possible. I called one place, The Harbor House of Pizza and got Dina (Konstantina Rigas). Dina heard me and my situation loud and clear and said even though they are not delivering she would be happy to take my mother an order! I thanked her repeatedly and was done with a smile on my face.

My mom called me only to be ecstatic and thrilled. The biggest thing out of all of this is Dina also brought my mom a balloon, a cupcake and a smile that said “Happy Birthday.” I did not ask her to do any of this.

This email is about a kind human with a huge heart! Dina went above and beyond to make an old lady happy on her birthday. I just want to let you guys know you are lucky to have her there in your small town. The world is a better place with kind people like her. Anything you can do give her and her family some notoriety would be great! Thank you for your time and be safe.

    Nathan Snyder
