Dear Editor:

On Memorial Day and every day, let us not forget but reflect on, with respect, the men and women who gave their ultimate sacrifice in all wars. I would like to recognize the brothers, these brave men, who gave everything in the Vietnam War from this region:

Jonathan A. Sawyer (d. 7/2/67)

Edward W. Tibbetts (mortally wounded 1/20/68). Succumbed to severe wounds on 5/25/75

Gordon E. Tibbetts (d. 3/26/71)

And my out of state brothers:

Paul A. Benkert (d. 1/7/67)

Pedro O. Cancel (d. 1/7/67)

Harold J. King (d. 1/7/67)

These heroes who fought for our freedom can never be forgotten. President Abraham Lincoln stated that we highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, that this nation under God, shall have a new birth of freedom. God bless these honorable men and their families.
