And the winner is ... Here’s another opportunity to win 10 more lobsters. The drawing will be held on Aug. 29, just in time for Labor Day Weekend! Each Thursday morning, we will be selling raffle tickets at the Farmers Market during August, and, of course, you can purchase your tickets (lots of them) at The Community Center Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ticket prices are the same: 1 ticket costs $15, 3 tickets cost $30. Each ticket is potentially worth 10 beautiful lobsters donated by Atlantic Edge Lobstermen.

Wow hoo! Bridge will begin the first Friday after Labor Day – Sept. 6! We would love to have a few more players sign up. If you or someone you know who might be looking for a game, please stop by or call The Community Center – 633-9876 to help get this wonderfully challenging card game going once again. Our own Jerry Homer, and Boothbay Register’s Contributing Writer, Jane Carpenter, are here to help and play.

Fraud! Scam! Ouch! The Community Center along with Bath Savings Bank is offering, for free, a Fraud Prevention Seminar on Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. As we all know, the scammers are getting creative and pervasive. Please put Sept. 12 on your calendar to come to The Community Center to benefit from this important opportunity to prevent getting “scammed”! Perhaps you saw the movie “Thelma,” last week at the Harbor Theatre. Even at age 93, you can be scammed. Thelma knew how to take control of the situation in her own way.

Also, there has been a request to reorganize art classes. Any kind of art – painting (water/acrylics/oil) on canvas, paper, glass, etc. Please call or stop by. 633-9876. We’d love to rejuvenate this wonderful craft.

Our own Lucy Cressey will be here on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon to help you Find Your Family. Come visit Lucy and learn how to do you own historical research about your roots. Always an adventure!

Last, but certainly not least, fresh vegetables arrive every Friday morning during the summertime. The veggies are very generously donated by Town Village Foodbank Farm and Veggies to Table. Get your bag ready to bring over on Friday mornings until 2 p.m. during the summer!
