Dear Editor: 

Further to Bob Scribner’s article (Countdown to exciting sailboat racing continues July 20-21), for those of us who raced Boothbay Harbor One Designs, after we graduated from Turnabouts, what made them interesting was their ability to point high, handle heavy weather, and with three sails, present all elements of sailboat racing.  

The outstanding boats in my time were Poppy (Bowden/Giles) and Osprey (Stover/Bass). The boats were great fun to watch and a thrill to sail.
