The Southport Memorial Library is hosting a food drive to benefit the Boothbay Region Food Pantry. Food can be dropped off during the library's open hours which are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 9 a..m.-4 p.m. and Thursday evening 6-8. There will be a box inside the library for donations. The food pantry currently has very high demand, and every little bit helps! 

The Food Pantry’s requested food items include canned protein (chicken, tuna, salmon, ham), peanut butter, jelly/jam, condiments, cooking oil, sugar, flour, coffee, hot and cold cereal, pasta and sauce, pancake mix and syrup, shelf stable milk, herbs and spices, and canned fruits and vegetables. Toiletries, toilet paper, and paper towels are also helpful.  Please be sure that the items have not passed their expiration date and that everything is non-perishable and nutritious.
