Cyanotype Printing Workshop 7/21

Event has passed

Join us on Sunday, July 21st from 1-3pm to learn about cyanotype printing! We had SO much fun in this class last summer and can't wait to do it again!

Students will make and take home 2 greeting cards and 1 canvas tote bag. We will be using plants, seaweed, shells, and other found materials to create bold relief images that resemble an x-ray!

Cyanotype is a 180 year old photographic printing process that produces prints in a distinctive indigo blue. The process was invented by Sir John Herschel, an astronomer and scientist, in 1842. Compared to other photographic printing processes, cyanotype is easy and accessible. No darkroom is needed, instead it uses the power of the sun.

Kids accompanied by an adult are welcome! Register online

This class will be taught by Sarah Spencer in The Barn. The Southport General Store will be open for refreshments! Students will receive a coupon for 10% off their food order! Email Annie@SouthportGeneralStore.com with any questions. We look forward to creating with you!

By entering an event or program of The Barn, you are entering an area where photography and video recording may occur. If you don't consent to having your photo taken during the event, please let us know beforehand. Photos will be used for marketing purposes.
