The Church of All Saints by-the-Sea is happy to announce that the Rev. M. Cristina Paglinauan will return to the Southport Island Episcopal chapel to lead services of Holy Communion for the next two weeks at 8 and 10 a.m. Our organist, Mr. Henry Lowe, will provide inspirational music at all services. People of all faiths are invited to attend the services. The Rev. Paglinauan will also lead a discussion of the week’s scripture passages on the porch of the chapel on Tuesday mornings, Aug. 6 and 13 at 9 a.m.

Rev. Paglinauan is associate rector for community engagement at The Church of the Redeemer, a vibrant parish of 700 households in north Baltimore, where she has served since August 2010. In her current position, she oversees Redeemer’s engagement in the city of Baltimore through various community partnerships and serves on the leadership team of BUILD, Baltimoreans United In Leadership Development, an organization committed to changing Baltimore for the better.

Prior to graduating from General Theological Seminary in June 2010 and becoming a priest, Cristina enjoyed a variety of work, learning and travel experiences, which included teaching and mentoring underserved and at-risk youth in Baltimore and Colorado; creating a diabetes prevention program for the Crownpoint Indian Health Service on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico; and leading a sailing-service trip bringing together Jewish-Christian-Muslim youth, in Israel. Cristina, her husband David Lloyd Warner, a history teacher at The St. Paul’s Schools in Brooklandville, Maryland and two children, Grace and Ben treasure their summer visits to Maine and while in Southport, enjoy hiking at Porter’s Preserve and eating at Cozy’s Dockside.

All Saints by-the-Sea is on Southport Island on All Saints Road about two miles on the left driving south on Route 238/Cape Newagen Road. An Episcopal Church sign marks the side of the road. Parking is available along Route 238 or in a limited number of handicapped spaces off All Saints Road. A golf cart will ferry persons from the handicapped lot to the chapel steps. The waterfront pier has been repaired and the dock is available for friends desiring to attend services via boat. The beautiful, simple wood chapel is open for quiet prayer and meditation during the week.
