In a race against time, a tow crew pulled a red Ford F150 out of inner Boothbay Harbor July 29 during an incoming tide. Shortly before 2 p.m., the truck traveled over cement bumpers down the steep embankment from the Grover’s Hardware and First Federal Savings and Loan parking lot.

It became stuck in exposed mud around 100 feet from the pavement. According to Boothbay Harbor Police Chief Doug Snyder, it appeared to be an accident, and the driver and passenger were not seriously injured. Both were on scene and declined to comment to the Register. The truck was pulled back onto dry land around 2:50 p.m. with visible damage to one tire and some of the body.
