As part of our Take Part in Art series, the Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BRAF) announces an upcoming slide lecture/demonstration by acclaimed maritime and landscape painter Don Demers on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 5 p.m. at the Rotary Club of Boothbay Harbor, located at 66 Montgomery Road.

Renowned for his breathtaking depictions of the sea and land, Demers will share his unique perspective on the creative process from working en plein air to studio work and the requirements for each. Attendees will gain exclusive insights into his artistic journey, including techniques, influences, and creative process. 

Demers will also include a drawing demonstration narrating the intricacies of drawing boats and ships. A question and answer segment will follow the demonstration. This special evening will include a raffle of one of the artist’s prints.
