Last week was a busy week for Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club Junior sailors in the waters of the Sheepscot and Linekin Bay. The young folks took top honors in a number of major events.

In the Maine State Opti championships held at the Southport Yacht Club, Emma Van der Veen took first place in the Blue Fleet and Hamilton Barclay garnered a first in the White Division and fifth overall.

One day later in the annual running of the Battle of the Bay 420 competition, Jax Van der Veen took first place on both days securing the coveted trophy once again. Jax crew on day one was Caleb Gray and on day two Hamilton Barclay. The Battle of the Bay is an annual event staged in Linekin Bay with the top sailors from Southport YC and Christmas Cove YC participating.
