Boothbay beats Bulldogs
The Boothbay Region High School field hockey team improved to 4-8 and moved up to seventh place in the Class C North standings with a 4-2 win over Hall-Dale High School in Farmingdale on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
“The field condition at Hall Dale yesterday was perfect,” said BRHS Coach Donna Jordan. “The girls played well. Chloe Arsenault had a strong game as she continually carried the ball up the field for us, setting up goal scoring opportunities. All our goals came off from goalkeeper rebounds yesterday and we had goals from Lexi Lane, Cortney Meader, Emily Echols and Riley Sullivan.
“Maddy Barter (goalie) made key saves throughout the game getting strong clearing passes to generate our offensive movement. Hall Dale struggled in the first half getting the ball past Kylie Brown, Jaelyn Crocker and Cortney Meader.”
The Bulldogs’ goals came from Elroy Stewart and Carly Corbin.
The Seahawks will host Winthrop (12-0 and top seed in Class C North) on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. and host Telstar on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 3:30 p.m. in the final regular season game.
