Boothbay beats Hall-Dale in OT, 67-62
The Boothbay Region High School boys varsity basketball team improved to 11-5 with a 67-62 overtime win over the visiting Hall-Dale Bulldogs Friday night, Jan. 29.
Tied at 57-57 at the end of regulation, each of the Seahawk starters scored in overtime. Boothbay had built a 57-50 lead with just under five minutes to play but the Bulldogs came charging back to tie the game with two minutes to play and force overtime. The seven-point lead was pretty consistent for the Seahawks as they led at half-time, 33-26, and after three quarters, 49-42.
Carter Babcock had a fine game for the Seahawks, leading them with 21 points and hauling down several rebounds. Jacob Leonard (17), Abel Bryer (15) and Kyle Ames (10) joined Babcock in double figure scoring.
Jeff Boyer led Hall-Dale with 22 points, followed by Tyler Nadeau with 15.
Hall-Dale, which came into the game on a five-game win streak, falls to 10-6 on the season.
