Boothbay opened its football season Sept. 1 on a losing note with a 56-20 loss to Maranacook in Readfield. Boothbay has another road game Sept. 9 at 1:30 p.m. in Kittery against Traip. Both teams will seek their first victories as Traip lost 64-0 in Old Orchard Beach. Boothbay has its first home game Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. against Old Orchard Beach at Sherman Field.
