Boothbay lacrosse tops Oceanside 11-7
The Boothbay Seahawks scored their second win in schoolgirl lacrosse May 1. Boothbay traveled to Rockland and defeated the host Oceanside Mariners 11-7. Boothbay held a slim 6-5 halftime lead, but a strong Seahawk second half defensive effort secured the victory. The Seahawk defense limited Oceanside’s scoring opportunities.
In the second half, Boothbay extended its lead by outscoring Oceanside 5 to 2.
Boothbay midfielder Chloe Arsenault and defender Kylie Brown triggered the strong defensive effort by recording seven interceptions apiece. Boothbay had three players score three goals: Arsenault, Jackie McLoon and Hannah Cola. Arsenaut also recorded one assist. Sydney Meader and Hali Goodwin also had one goal and one assist.
Boothbay improves to 2-1. Oceanside falls to 0-3. The Seahawks will host their first home game at 4 p.m. Friday, May 4 at Sherman Field.
