Boothbay loses 40-18 to Lisbon
The Boothbay Region Seahawk football team dropped to 2-1 on the season after losing to the Lisbon Greyhounds, 40-18, at Lisbon on September 21.
The Greyhounds’ dynamic running duo of Jordan Torres and Quincy Thompson gave the Seahawks fits. Thompson scored three touchdowns on a 70-yard run and two one-yard runs and Torres scored one touchdown on a four-yard run and added five two-point conversions.
Boothbay kept with the Greyhounds in the first half, trailing only 16-12. After Lisbon went ahead 16-0, Jude Alamo scored on a five-yard run with 6:55 to play in the half. With just 12 seconds to play in the half, Seahawk quarterback Nick Kilgus connected with sophomore Abel Bryer on a 20-yard scoring pass.
Lisbon went up 22-12 at the 8:28 mark of the third quarter on one of Thompson’s one-yard scoring runs and after a blocked punt by Lisbon, the Greyhounds drove 28 yards and Torres scored a touchdown and two-point conversion to give the home team a 32-12 lead.
Senior Jason Maddocks cut the lead to 32-18 with just over two minutes to play in the third quarter as he scored on a 20-yard run up the middle.
The Seahawks couldn’t mount any offensive threat in the fouth quarter and Lisbon ran out the last eight minutes of the game.
