With 1:33 remaining in the eight-minute overtime period, Dirigo's Sabrina Daoud scored her third goal of the game off a penalty corner to give the Cougars a 4-3 win over the Boothbay Region Seahawks in Class C field hockey at Perkins Field on Monday, Sept. 14. The loss dropped Boothbay's record to 1-4 after the Seahawks lost to Winthrop and St. Dom's earlier in the week.
The well-played game saw Boothbay have leads of 2-1 and 3-2 but the Cougars kept battling back and they tied the game at 3-3 on Daoud's second goal with 10:27 remaining in regulation.
The first half ended 2-2, with Dirigo's Katelyn Olsen and Boothbay's Nicole Clarke getting goals at the 25:44 and 16:29 marks, respectively. Boothbay's Sydney Meader scored her first of two goals at 5:52 of the first half to give the Seahawks the lead at 2-1. Then Daoud scored her first goal at 2:24 to tie the game.

At Winthrop on Friday, Sept. 11, Boothbay lost to the Ramblers, 3-1. Kinli Dibiase and Emily Molina scored in the first half for Winthrop, while Boothbay's only goal came with 30 seconds remaining in the first half on a tally by Meader. Monlina added a goal in the second half.
At home against St. Dom's on Wednesday, Sept. 9, the Seahawks lost a 1-0 contest to the Saints.
Kylie Leavitt’s first half goal at the 8:42 mark held up as the Saints improved to 2-2 while Boothbay dropped to 1-2 on the young season.
Boothbay out shot St. Dom’s, 10 to 8, and had its best chance to tie the game with 26 minutes to play when a centering pass from Page Brown to Sydney Meader was skillfully kicked away by the St. Dom’s goalie on Meader’s shot. Boothbay also had two penalty corners and one long hit in the last two minutes but could not score.
