Boothbay runs past Buckfield
The Boothbay Region Seahawks boys varsity basketball team improved to 5-10 on the season with a 66-44 win at home over the Buckfield Bucks Monday, Jan. 31.
A full team for the first time this season, coach Dan Hallinan’s team stretched a 10-point halftime lead (31-21) into a 15-point lead after three quarters (48-33) and rolled on to the win.
Senior Lucas Hardwick and junior Gryffin Kristan led Boothbay in scoring with 15 points each. Giovanni Warren added 10 points and Drew Meader had eight.
Buckfield’s top scorers were Ayden Jefferson with 14, Gavin Cherest with 12 and Jaiden Jack with eight.
Buckfield dropped to 2-12 with the loss.
The Seahawks return to action Tuesday, Feb. 1 when they travel to Oak Hill (6-7).
