BRES PTO Family Night book fair, potluck

Boothbay Region Elementary School students, parents, teachers and friends enjoyed an evening of kinship Jan. 28 through food and conversation at the Parent Teacher Organization Family Night book fair and potluck.  PTO’s Mary Baudo said all donations would be going to the family of Christopher Pinkham.

“Chris worked incredibly hard to support his family,” said a card next to the donations. “We are trying to ease the financial burden of his end of life expenses and hopefully raise some extra funds to support the family’s immediate financial needs.”

A celebration of life for Christopher Pinkham will take place 1 - 4 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Opera House.

Dishes like beef stew, cheddar and broccoli soup, lasagna, spinach and artichoke dip and about a dozen different desserts drew many BRES family and friends. As she and other parents were desperately trying to coax others to finish off or take home some of the food, BRES Assistant Principal Tricia Campbell said “potluck” was an understatement and that thendinner was more of a feast.

“We must have fed over a hundred people coming in, making donations and filling up plates to sit down or walk around with.”
