Carrabec defeats Boothbay
The Carrabec Cobras spoiled the Boothbay Region Seahawks’ home and season opener with a 3-2 match win in Class C boys tennis on Thursday, April 28.
Boothbay’s lone win on the court was by third singles player Neal Baldwin, who defeated William Price, 7-5, 6-2. Boothbay’s other win was a second doubles forfeit.
In first singles, Luke Carey defeated Boothbay’s Cleyton Splaine, 6-2, 6-0.
Second singles saw a tight match but Andrew Fowlie fell to Carrabec’s Connor Peabody, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.
In the first doubles match, Billy Lawrence and Bobby Lindblom defeated Rodi Mayne and Chase Mansfield, 6-1, 6-3.
The Seahawks are scheduled to play at Mountain Valley in Rumford today. Their next home match is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3 against Spruce Mountain of Jay.
