Community Resource Council (CRC) Fuel Fund still available

Mon, 02/05/2024 - 11:30am

The Community Resource Council (CRC) Fuel Fund and Woodchucks Program is available to people who need help heating their homes that live in Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Southport and Edgecomb. Although Punxsutawney Phil says spring is coming early, we want to make sure that everyone in our community can stay warm throughout the remaining winter months.

Because of the generosity of donors in our region, we are able to provide heating assistance (oil, propane) so local people are able stay warm at home. If you rely on wood heat, we also provide dry, seasoned wood through our Woodchucks Program. The Woodchucks are our extraordinary volunteers who harvest, split, dry and deliver seasoned firewood to local people in need.

Hannah Corkum, the Community Navigator, manages the application process for the CRC heating assistance programs; including the Community Fuel Fund and the Woodchucks. She will review the straightforward and fairly simple process you will need to complete to determine eligibility.

Hannah is available Monday through Friday day hours by phone at 207-350-1743. Hannah also can be reached by email at Hannah.corkum@crcboothbay.org Please contact Hannah to make an appointment for heating assistance.
