Cougars defeat Seahawks, 84-58
Dirigo senior Riley Robinson scored 27 points and two other Cougar players scored in double figures as the top-seeded team in Class C South defeated the Boothbay Region Seahawks, 84-58, at Porter Memorial Gymnasium Friday night.
Boothbay (8-3) got down early as the Cougar defense didn’t allow easy shots. Dirigo (10-0) led after one quarter 27-12. The Cougars held double-digit leads most of the night and although Boothbay pulled to within 15 points in the third quarter, Robinson and company weren’t to be denied its tenth victory.
Joining Robinson in double figures were Gavin Hebert with 13 points and Gavin Arsenault with 11.
Abel Bryer led Boothbay with 16 points, followed by Kyle Ames with 13.
Boothbay will travel to Monmouth on Tuesday.
