Royal Shakespeare Company presents Henry IV Part I (2 hours 45 mins)
From Stratford-Upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s home, comes this latest production from the RSC.
With his crown under threat from enemies both foreign and domestic, Henry IV prepares for war. Having deposed the previous king, he is only too aware of the tenuousness of his position, and of the price to be paid if he falters. Son, Hal and his friend, Falstaff are thrust into the brutal reality of the battlefield, where Hal must confront his responsibilities to family and throne. This encore screening on Thursday, June 26 at 7 p.m. Please note that Henry IV Part II will be broadcast in July. Presented in partnership with Charter Oak Capital Management.
Belle (PG, 1 hour 44 minutes)
Inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), the illegitimate mixed race daughter of Admiral Sir John Lindsay (Matthew Goode). After meeting an idealistic young vicar's son bent on changing society, he and Belle help shape Lord Mansfield's role as Lord Chief Justice to end slavery in England.
Belle plays at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 27, Saturday June 28, Sunday June 29, Tuesday July 1, and Wednesday July 2 and Thursday, July 3 at 2 and 7 p.m. Presented in partnership with Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty.
