Finding himself in Miami, he teams up with his ex-wife (Sofia Vergara), his friend (John Leguizamo) and his son to launch a food truck. Taking to the road, Chef Carl goes back to his roots to reignite his passion for the kitchen — and zest for life and love. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2 hours 40 minutes, encore screening)
National Theater Live presents Christopher, 15 years old, with an extraordinary brain — exceptional at maths while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion of killing Mrs Shears' dog Wellington, he records each fact about the event in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of the murder. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world. Hailed by The London Times as “a phenomenal combination of storytelling and spectacle.” Plays Thursday, July 10 at 7 p.m.
The Immigrant (R, 2 hours)
Ewa Cybulski (Marion Cotillard) and her sister sail to New York from their native Poland in search of a new start and the American dream. When they reach Ellis Island, doctors discover that Magda (Angela Sarafyan) is ill, and the two women are separated. Ewa is released onto the mean streets of Manhattan while her sister is quarantined. Alone, she quickly falls prey to Bruno (Joaquin Phoenix), who forces her into prostitution. The arrival of Orlando (Jeremy Renner), a stage magician, restores her self-belief and hopes for a brighter future.
