Boothbay Region High School junior Nick Gorey, who plays first singles for the BRHS boys tennis team, has advanced to the State Singles round of 48 players on Friday, May 29 at Colby College in Waterville.

In the qualifying round for the State Singles tournament on Saturday, May 16, Gorey defeated Elias Thorbiomson of Oceanside, 6-0, 6-0. In round 2, he defeated Kyle Davis of Skowhegan, 8-1.

Also competing in the qualifying round was BRHS junior and second singles player Daniel Drummond. Drummond lost to Kevin Anderson of Wiscasset, 8-4.
