Hall-Dale steals the game
Bulldogs outscore Sreahawks 18-6 in final quarter to win, 50-48
Sophomore Alec Byron made two foul shots with 0.4 seconds to play and the Hall-Dale Bulldogs outscored host Boothbay, 18-6, in the final quarter to win, 50-48, at Boothbay Region High School Monday, Jan. 9.
Boothbay had the ball with about 21 seconds to play but a tie-up along the sideline gave the ball back to Hall-Dale on the alternating possession with eight seconds left. After Hall-Dale missed two shots, Byron rebounded the ball and was shooting when he was fouled. Boothbay’s desperation heave at the end hit the ceiling.
Jett Boyer led Hall-Dale, now 7-2, with 12 points.
Carter Babcock led Boothbay, now 5-4, with 16 points.
Boothbay is scheduled to travel to Oak Hill on Thursday, Jan. 12.
