Harbor Fest will once again feature two road races as major events in the festival's healthy living category. Both races will start and finish at the Boothbay Resort, offering the same scenic courses as the 2014 race. Race proceeds will benefit the BRYMCA and CLCYMCA collaborative Diabetes Prevention Program.

Race start time is 9 a.m. at the Boothbay Resort on 301 Adams Pond Road, Boothbay on Sunday, Sept. 6. The Watershed Tavern will be open following the race for those who wish to enjoy their local fare and ales, as well an awards ceremony. Runners and spectators will also have the opportunity to check out products and services from local health and wellness businesses who will be onsite before, during and after the race.

All finishers of the half marathon will receive a finisher medal and those who register for either race by Aug. 15 will receive a technical race shirt. Online registration is open until Aug. 31 at http://www.boothbayharborfest.com. Registration forms are also available at both YMCA locations: Boothbay Harbor and Damariscotta and at the Harbor Fest booth, Boothbay Farmers Market, Boothbay Common, every Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon. Race packet pick up and day of registration begins at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 6 at Boothbay Resort. Registrants will receive a confirmation email with parking and other final information one week prior to the race.

Event organizers are currently seeking volunteers, sponsors and healthy living vendors who are interested in joining the team. Vendor fees are $75 for a table only or $100 for a table and sponsor listing on the race shirts.

The road race is part of a 10-day community celebration of music, food, fashion, art and healthy living. The festival takes place in a variety of locations on the Boothbay peninsula, featuring more than 100 Maine businesses, organizations and individuals.
