Dear Editor:

After enjoying the 4th's fireworks with my family, I was attempting to cross the road in front of the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club. I have just clocked 95 as in years, so not moving with my former 94 agility, hence a cane. All of a sudden a big white, shiny new, full-sized pickup stopped (like dead-in-the-water stopped) right in front of me. The female driver called out that she was not moving until I got safely across the road. Hopefully I called out my thanks as she waited.

Though I do not have the pleasure of knowing this lady, I do want to thank her in print for her kindness, for looking out for me.
