January 4: Wacky BINGO at the Boothbay Fire Station, sponsored by CLICK. Family fun and be sure to bring along that Christmas gift that you just couldn’t bear to keep – wrap it up and label it by gender and age appropriateness. Your gift will be someone else’s prize.
January 7: Armchair Traveler Series from January through May: the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m., beginning January 7 with “To Wimbledon Via the QE2” with Ham and Helen Meserve.
January 11: Amy Lewis Faircloth, author of “Wicked Good.” A single mom struggles to solve the puzzle of a son with Asperger's syndrome in this touching, winsome comic melodrama.
January 25: The Books to Screen book for January is “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” by Richard and Florence Atwater, a story of a painter and his family who acquire too many penguins. Come on over to the library and get your free copy, read it, then return on Friday, January 25 to watch the movie. Books available Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Boothbay Region Writers’ Group: meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m.
French Conversation Night: the last Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Monday Night Book Club: meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m.
Monday Morning Book Club (non-fiction and historical fiction): meets the first Monday of each month at 11 a.m.
