AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, June 5, of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maine.

Today, there are 2,482 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases across the state, including 2,210 confirmed cases and 272 probable cases. 

Across the state, 1,797 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 98 people have died. The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 293.

Looking at hospital COVID-19 data, there are currently 35 hospitalized, including 13 in critical care and 7 on a ventilator. There are 144 available critical care beds out of 400 total and 235 available ventilators of 316 total and 441 alternative ventilators. 

By sex, 1,275 females have tested positive in the state and 1,207 males have tested positive.

The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC. 

“This is likely an underrepresentation of the true number of cases in Maine since not all individuals are being tested,” the Maine CDC says. “For individuals not considered to be at high risk, medical providers are currently advised to diagnose COVID-19 based on symptoms.” 

Each day, the Maine CDC updates its COVID-19 data on its website with the latest coronavirus numbers from across the state. Today’s update came at 12:30 p.m.
