Lady Seahawks drop three tough matches
The Lady Seahawks tennis team lost three tough matches over the past week. The first, away at Madison Area Memorial High School on April 25, was a difficult 3-2 loss as the team’s short roster filled all matches but one double.
Delly Clarkson lost the first singles match, 10-0, to Bulldog Breanna Kenagy; Isabel Harkins fell 10-0 to Kynsey Hibbard; Madison Faulkingham defeated Shelby Belanger, 10-2; and Olivia Paolillo and Marissa Peters defeated Bulldogs Mikayla Violette and McKenzie Drury, 10-4.
The Seahawks lost their April 29 home match against Spruce Mountain High School and had to forfeit a singles match and doubles match.
Clarkson lost both sets against Phoenix Natalie Luce, 6-0, 6-1; Harkins defeated Annabelle Collins in two sets, 6-4 and 6-4; Faulkingham and Peters lost to Hanni Johnson and Sara Henderson, winning one set, 7-3, and losing two, 7-6 and 6-1.
The Seahawks were shut out by the Mountain Valley High School Falcons on May 1 with one loss due to forfeiting second doubles. Clarkson lost two sets, 6-2 and 6-3, against Kierstyn Lyons; Harkins lost two sets, 6-0 and 6-1, against Rylee Sevigny; and Faulkingham lost two sets, 6-3 and 6-2 against Avery Sevigny.
