Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: 4 accidents

    The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 471 calls for service for the period of July 30 to Aug. 6. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 8,758 calls for service.

    Summonses

    Peter Dombrowski, 75, of Boothbay Harbor was issued a summons July 31 for Failing to Make Oral or Written Accident Report, on Ocean Point Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.

    Zachary Lear, 26, of Belfast was issued a summons Aug. 3 for Operating after Suspension and Violating Condition of Release, on Augusta Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Kasey Doyle.

    Accidents

    On July 31, an accident occurred on Ocean Point Road in Boothbay involving Peter Dombrowski, 75, of Boothbay Harbor. Mr. Dombrowski was operating his 2006 GMC Envoy southbound when he stated he fell asleep and crossed the centerline. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway and collided with several trees. Deputy Jerold Winslow was the investigating officer.

    On July 31, an accident occurred on South Clary Road in Jefferson involving Derek K. Cole, 32, of Jefferson. Mr. Cole was operating his 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound, traveling at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway on the right side, came onto the roadway, crossed the centerline and left the roadway on the left. His vehicle then struck a guardrail, next to the Dyer River Bridge, went airborne and flew over the river and rolled several times before striking some trees. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.

    On July 31, an accident occurred on Jones Woods Road in Newcastle involving Alisa M. Wallace, 57, of Alna. Ms. Wallace was operating her 2000 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when she swerved to avoid a deer and crossed the centerline. Her vehicle then left the roadway and collided with a utility pole before coming to rest on an embankment. Deputy Jerold Winslow was the investigating officer.

    On Aug. 1, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Kathleen D. Titus, 65, of Newton, New Hampshire. Ms. Titus was operating her 2015 Nissan Juke northbound when she struck a deer in the roadway. Deputy Kasey Doyle was the investigating officer.
