The Harbor Theatre
Marvel Comics' “Doctor Strange” Dr. Stephen Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave.
He quickly learns that the enclave is at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. Before long, Strange is forced to choose between his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.
Co-starring with Cumberbatch are Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Scott Adkins, Michael Stuhlbarg, Amy Landecker, and Mads Mikkelsen. The final screening of “Doctor Strange” is at 7 p.m. Nov. 16.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them” J.K. Rowling's first screenplay, takes place in the year 1926, and Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures.
Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident, were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt's fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
The film stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander with Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Carmen Ejogo and Colin Farrell.
Reviewing for Variety, Peter Debruge wrote, "'Fantastic Beasts' does double-duty as yet another imagination-tickling fantasy adventure and a deeply troubled commentary on tolerance, fear, and bigotry in the world today.”
“Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them” plays Thursday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on Nov. 20.
