March is membership month
March is membership month at Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) and we hope that you will consider renewing your membership for 2014. Any donation to BRLT makes you a member, which means this is your land trust. You are the reason for of all the beautiful conserved lands on the Boothbay peninsula. Also, because of your generosity and foresight, BRLT properties will remain protected and open to the public forever.
Thanks to our members, we are able to do so much more than land conservation at BRLT. Annual contributions have helped us to grow our educational programming and collaboration with surrounding non-profits, schools and the towns. More specifically, your contributions made the following things possible in 2013:
- The volunteer Wayfarer Program provided trail-side education and assistance to BRLT preserve visitors.
- The Osprey Program conducted over 175 educational events and programs for children and adults.
- BRLT began ongoing negotiations with the Town of Boothbay for the transfer of ownership of the Cross River parcel on Route 27 to the Land Trust.
- BRLT submitted the pre-application to the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.
We are so thankful for the support of our 800-plus member households and truly value each and every one. We encourage each of you to take advantage of your membership at BRLT. We want to hear from you! We are always open to your advice, expertise, participation and feedback. Please feel free to contact our office at 207-633-4818, brlt@bbrlt.org, or stop in for a visit at 137 Townsend Avenue.
