AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, May 30, of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maine.

Today, there are 2,282 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases across the state, including 2,025 confirmed cases and 257 probable cases. 

Across the state, 1,505 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 89 people have died. The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 272.

Looking at hospital COVID-19 data, there are currently 46 hospitalized, including 18 in critical care and 11 on a ventilator. There are 139 available critical care beds out of 394 total and 238 available ventilators of 319 total and 441 alternative ventilators. 

By sex, 1,179 females have tested positive in the state and 1,103 males have tested positive.

The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC. 

“This is likely an underrepresentation of the true number of cases in Maine since not all individuals are being tested,” the Maine CDC says. “For individuals not considered to be at high risk, medical providers are currently advised to diagnose COVID-19 based on symptoms.” 

Each day, the Maine CDC updates its COVID-19 data on its website with the latest coronavirus numbers from across the state. Today’s update came at 12:40 p.m.
