AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, May 31, of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maine.

Today, there are 2,325 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases across the state, including 2,067 confirmed cases and 258 probable cases. 

Across the state, 1,552 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 89 people have died. The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 283.

Looking at hospital COVID-19 data, there are currently 49 hospitalized, including 18 in critical care and 10 on a ventilator. There are 152 available critical care beds out of 395 total and 233 available ventilators of 319 total and 441 alternative ventilators. 

By sex, 1,202 females have tested positive in the state and 1,123 males have tested positive.

The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC. 

“This is likely an underrepresentation of the true number of cases in Maine since not all individuals are being tested,” the Maine CDC says. “For individuals not considered to be at high risk, medical providers are currently advised to diagnose COVID-19 based on symptoms.” 

Each day, the Maine CDC updates its COVID-19 data on its website with the latest coronavirus numbers from across the state. Today’s update came at 12:15 p.m.
