The Monmouth Mustangs improved to 9-2 on the season with a convincing 72-39 win over the visiting Boothbay Region Seahawks boys basketball team Wednesday, Jan. 25.

The Seahawks (6-5) stayed with Monmouth for one quarter but trailed at halftime by 16, 37-21. The Mustangs held Boothbay to five points in the final quarter.

Leading the winner was Manny Calder with 21 points. Owen Harding added 11 points.

Boothbay was led by Luke Morley with 10 points.

The Seahawks are scheduled to host Hall-Dale tonight, Thursday, Jan. 26 at 6:30.
