New York man wins 25th Dolphin Open
Randy Rice of New York, a longtime competitor in the Dolphin Open at Dolphin Mini Golf in Boothbay, won the 2018 competition this past weekend (Sept. 8-9) by five strokes.
Rice finished with a three-round total of 207 (34.5 average), edging runner-up Pat Sheridan of Connecticut (212, 35.33 average). Sheridan also won $100 for being the first player to get a hole in one on the Bobbing Buoys hole. Finishing in third place among the 17 competitors was Mark “Highlighter” Novicki of Connecticut with a three-round total of 216.
Local competitors included Dolphin Mini Golf owner Lee Stoddard (8th place), Todd McPhee (12th place) and Arthur Richardson (14th place). Richardson won the Senior division with a 41.33 average.
Five competed in the Amateur division and four competed in the Junior division.
