Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Community School District Board of Trustees have two seats up for election, one in each town. No one took out nomination papers for either seat.

Incumbents Chair Richard Hallinan of Boothbay Harbor and Ashleeann Lowery of Boothbay have said they did not seek reelection, but would serve again if they receive enough write-in votes. “I have told the town office that if I'm written in, I will go another term,” Lowery wrote the board in an email.

Hallinan said in a March 4 meeting, “I wasn't going to run for another term, but nobody's taken out papers … I do really enjoy working with all you guys and we'll see what happens. But if someone beats me on a write-in and wants it, then they can have it.”

Boothbay Town Clerk Andrea Lowery and Boothbay Harbor Town Clerk Michelle Farnham said there are no declared write-in candidates. According to the clerks, there is no strict protocol in either town for writing in a candidate, though legibly written names in complete form are preferred. Said Farnham, “So long as we know who they are, the vote will be counted.”
