Notice to Ocean Point dog walkers
Dear Editor:
My husband and I have the privilege of staying in our family cottage at Ocean Point in the summer. We are dog lovers and adore watching the many dogs (including our own) who walk the road. We also love the flower gardens and planters that walkers enjoy in the summer and our neighbors work so hard to maintain. They add so much beauty to this lovely community.
I have noticed that although most dog walkers religiously carry their little bags back to their trash bins, it is surprising how many folks do not think twice about allowing their dogs to use these lovely planters to do their business. It is very easy to teach your dog that they do not go on the planters, or in the pretty gardens that line the road. There are new signs that have begun to pop up along the road here and they say “Please be considerate” along with a cute picture of a dog. The people who put these gardens there should not have to deal with the results of your dog walk. Perhaps the signs should say “My garden is not a fire hydrant.”
