Julie Mooney recorded a hat trick with two goals in the first half and one in the second as the visiting Oak Hill Raiders defeated the Boothbay Region Seahawks in their homecoming game, 5-1, in Class C field hockey Friday afternoon, Sept. 23 at Blenn Perkins field.
Boothbay scored 30 seconds into the game after Sydney Blake put the ball into the scoring circle. Fellow senior and co-captain Savannah Compare drove the ball into the net to give the Seahawks a quick lead. However, the Raiders didn’t allow another shot on goal the rest of the game.
Oak Hill had 16 penalty corners and Boothbay had eight.
Seahawk goalie Cass Amaral had 13 saves.
Next up for the Seahawks (0-6) is a home game Monday, Sept. 26 at 3:30 against the Telstar Rebels (0-6).
