Oak Hill tops Boothbay, 39-6
The Oak Hill Raiders broke open a close game at the half and went on to easily defeat the host Boothbay Region High School Seahawks, 39-6, at Sherman Field Friday night.
The visitors spoiled Boothbay’s annual homecoming and senior appreciation game by capitalizing on four Boothbay turnovers. Oak Hill scored three second half touchdowns and a field goal to improve to 5-1 on the season. Boothbay dropped to 1-4.
Sophomore Jacob Leonard scored Boothbay’s only points, a 10-yard touchdown catch in the end zone late in the second quarter to make the score 14-6.
The Seahawks will now travel to Winthrop on Friday night, Oct. 17 to face the combined Ramblers and Monmouth Mustangs squad, who are also 1-4 and coming off a 33-0 win over Telstar.
