At 9:42 a.m. Friday, July 19, Sagadahoc County sheriff's deputies, Woolwich Fire & Rescue, and support from West Bath Fire Department and Wiscasset ESU responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route One and Montsweag Road. Traffic was delayed or diverted for about three hours while rescue efforts and an investigation of the crash took place.

The initial investigation shows that the operator of a 2008 Subaru Outback was trying to make a left turn onto Route One, from Montsweag Road, and pulled out into the path of a 2009 Chrysler 300 that was heading northbound on Route One.

The Subaru was being driven by Delores Lake of Woolwich and she was the only person in her vehicle.

The Chrysler was being driven by Jennifer Therrien of Lisbon. She had an adult front seat passenger and two infants in the rear seats both of whom were secured in car seats.

The occupants of both vehicles were all transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

The roadway was re-opened to traffic around 12:01 p.m.

The crash is being investigated by Corporal Ian Alexander and reconstructed by Detective Brian Carleton, both of Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Office.
