Party time at Wiscasset’s Old Jail Aug. 10

Sat, 07/27/2024 - 8:45am

Lincoln County Historical Association (LCHA) invites the community to Jailhouse Rock! -  an evening of music, dancing, and family games on the grounds of the Old Jail on Federal Street in Wiscasset.  The fun begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10 when Leopard Girls, the mid-coast rock and blues band, strikes the first chords on their electric guitars.

The 'yard' of the historic 1811 building will host lawn games and races of all kinds. Bring a picnic or purchase picnic fare, join in the fun, and even get a peek into the jail cells.

LCHA has partnered with Wiscasset Partners in Education, who will sell pulled pork barbecued sandwiches, rainbow slaw, macaroni and cheese, and a drink — all for just $8.

Tickets are $5 for adults and free for kids. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Jailhouse Rock! will be held rain or shine. Please visit  lincolncountyhistory.org to register. Pre-registration is not essential, but will be a big help in planning for the event.
